Acrylic Painting for Beginners
This course is ideal for the beginner artist or painter. Instructor, Robyn Foster will walk
you through the basic techniques to creating an acrylic painting through demonstrations
of many techniques including studio safety, colour theory, paint mixing techniques,
composition and more. In this class we will cover everything from which materials to
purchase, coming up with a subject to paint, to painting techniques and accomplishing
an acrylic painting.

Acrylic Painting: Intermediate to Advanced
Students will explore open subject matter, demonstrations, and consultations with the instructor. This ongoing class aims at improving overall painting technique and individual style. Robyn will provide hands-on demonstrations on how to use painting mediums and techniques. Students will be encouraged to explore many painting techniques as it pertains to their interests. Robyn will also discuss some abstraction and how to tackle a large-scale painting for artists who would like to work bigger.
Please bring the materials you wish to use. Some mediums will be provided for demonstrations. Beginner’s acrylic painting or some painting experience is recommended.

Confidence with Colour: Acrylic Painting
Do you struggle with using colour in your paintings? Using simple techniques and basic colour mixing this workshop covers how to use colour effectively to create a harmonious painting. Throw aside your colour wheel and numerous tubes of paint and work some colour magic. You won’t need to dig through your paint box anymore to solve your colour dilemmas. Some brush and blending techniques will be included. Please feel free to bring a painting in progress for feedback from the instructor (optional). Some materials are provided; please bring the materials that you are currently using. Supply list is available for beginners.

Drawing for Painters
You don’t have to be amazing at drawing to be a great painter but these basic techniques will strengthen any painting. This class focuses on proportion, composition, form, perspective, and creating the illusion of depth. Please feel free to bring in a painting in progress for feedback from the instructor (optional). Some materials are provided but please bring an HB, 2B, 4B pencil, eraser, and a sketchbook if you have one.

Drawing & Shading
Learn how to layer your pencil properly to create a smooth, soft image. The medium charcoal will also be covered. Charcoal provided, but please bring a sketchbook or drawing paper (16 x 20 or larger), HB, 2B, 4B and 6B pencils, sharpener, ruler and a white or kneadable eraser.

Clay Sculpture
Learn many clay hand-building techniques while creating beautiful sculptures. Whether
you like traditional sculpture or would like to create funky, functional pieces of art, this
class is for you. We will be using under-glazes and glazes to finish the sculptures.
Tools, under-glazes, and some glazes will be provided at the studio. Some materials
and firing fees will apply.

Sculpture Workshop:Beginner to Intermediate
This class invites all sculptors to come explore clay sculpture in this workshop. This workshop focuses on creating a small clay sculpture and finishing it with an under glaze. Hand-built dishes, masks and tiles are also optional. Students may have time to make multiple sculptures based on their skill level. Tools and under glazes are available for use at the studio and firing will be charged at $2.25 per pound.
